Artist Statement (perpetually under construction)

As an artist, I perform my subjective reality. While technique and concentration go into every movement of my hand, I’ve always gotten stuck on an ever-looming lack of free-will. There’s a unique guiding force in every artist, one only they can employ. I hear this called “style”, but style has always been something I can build, something I can create. This is an irreplicable combination of the way my hand holds a brush, the pressure my muscles have learned to use, the way my eyes differentiate between colors; it makes my art, well, mine. Sure it’s ego, but in my overanalysis I am reminded of human touch; human touch, where there is divinity, where there is hope;
